There's a speed-dependent sound that I believe is the front or rear axle bearing. Significant vibration thru driver seat and arm rest no vibration thru steering wheel. I traded in the Pilot for a new car so that I didn't have to deal with the headache and hassle with the tranmission repairs. Dealer unable to fix problem during this repair visit. Transmission fluid leak into transmission coolant suspected. Transmission shuddering at highway speeds and lurching at slower speeds. Honda replaced transmission, trans warmer, radiator, hoses, fluids and other parts that are touched by transmission fluid Poor shifting and slow operation of the shifter. Update: Almost two years later with 10,000 miles on new transmission, problem appears to be solved. Dealership kept car for extensive period to ensure new transmission functioned properly, and all electrical systems connected to it worked properly. Determined the original factory installed nine gear German transmission that was a new model specifically fitted for the Honda Pilot was poorly made (known to the industry) and Honda replaced transmission with a rebuilt one. Honda dealership was called and they sent tow truck. Dashboard light stated transmission failure. This didn’t solve problem but wasn’t determined to be a failed fix until driving over several hundred more miles. Dealer suggested adjusting transmission software. Automatic shifting jerky at times below 50 mph.
